In most movies this stranger can be an adult, but this film brings us the adopted-kid-from-Hell. The expression "from Hell", incidentally, is never to be taken literally; "Orphan" may possibly start out like an unacknowledged remake of "The Omen", but the child's evil is spelled out by a plot twist which has nothing at all to try and do with Satan
